M&R: Digital Squeegee The Digital Squeegee is scheduled to launch in early 2017. “While all other hybrid systems currently available dramat- ically reduce the productivity of the screen printing press, the Digital Squeegee was developed to print at speeds that will not hinder productivity,” explains Geoff Baxter of M&R. “It makes no sense to purchase an industrial screen press capable of printing over 500 to 750 units per hour, add an expensive hybrid printer, and then reduce the throughput by 90%.” Geoff says the Digital Squeegee overcomes this issue by using an array of print heads with over 22,000 nozzles firing in single pass mode; there is no X-axis scan. The Digital Squeegee is reported by M&R to be able to print at the same speed as conventional, analogue squeegees. w www.mrprint.com “The hybrid system developed by Polyprint combines the speed of screen print with the ease of digital prints to create fantas- tic, high resolution images onto garments,” says Julian Wright of Amaya Sales UK. “The process enables the user to drastically increase output from standard DTG and still retain the benefits of full colour digital printing.” Set-up time is greatly reduced and registration is achieved in a very simple and quick manner, Amaya: Polyprint hybrid

he reports. This process was developed to increase production on dark or coloured garments and to allow screen printers to significantly reduce set-up time on medium-sized runs. Only one screen is needed to create the white base and the Texjet DTG

printer does the rest. w www.amayauk.com
