Minor matters There are plenty of opportunities in childrenswear, especially for those targeting the booming babywear sector, as well as the growing tween and teen population where more than half of children aged 10-14 want fashionable clothes, reports Tamara Sender, Mintel’s senior fashion analyst. Here are the latest styles from this not so mini market

SG, an exclusive brand to BTC Activewear, offers a number of children’s styles including the Kid’s Softshell Jacket (SG43K, pictured), the Kid’s T-shirt (SG15K) and the Kid’s Raglan Sleeve Sweatshirt (SG23K), all of which are available in a range of colours and sizes. 3. Larkwood Baby and Toddler collection offers a wide range of adorable childrenswear. New for this year is the Short Sleeved Stripe T-Shirt (LW027), which has a horizontal white and Oxford navy stripe and twin-needle stitching. Made from 100% cotton, 160gsm single jersey, it is available in sizes 0/6 months to 3/4 years. Also highlighted by the brand is the Children’s All In One 4. The Tonal Spider T (TD001J) adds a splash of sunshine to any dull day, says Colortone. Hand-dyed for colourfastness and quarter-turned to eliminate the centre crease, it’s made from a 175gsm, pre-shrunk cotton fabric, and is available in eight colours.
